Configuration
Appearance & interface
Local preferences. Drag the divider to resize split layouts. Right-click Queue or empty playlist space to add a video, even with the input bar hidden. Double-tap Queue to collapse or restore the playlist.
Networking
How often your cursor and unfinished strokes are sent to others. Higher rates use more bandwidth. Applies to server and P2P rooms.Maximum local update rate for other users’ cursors and unfinished strokes, limited by your display. Stroke points are retained. This reduces preview work, not incoming bandwidth. Completed strokes arrive immediately at full quality.
Rendering
Display acceleration only. Final pixels, undo and networking stay in Rust. CPU fallback is automatic if WebGL2 is unavailable.Only remote brush previews move to the worker. Unsupported browsers automatically use the main thread.Local display only. Lower resolutions reduce live brush preview work. Other users’ cursor outlines and names stay sharp; committed artwork always arrives at full quality.Lines, circles, ellipses and rectangles preview once per display frame. Fast previews may differ slightly at edges; unsupported blend modes use the exact preview. Release always commits exact Rust pixels. Both modes draw identical pixels. Large edits and presentation changes may require a full redraw. Saved locally.
Local board background
Visual only, saved on this browser. Other people keep their own color. Does not change artwork, undo, snapshots or exported PNGs.
Canvas cursor
Uses your Windows/browser mouse pointer without hiding the tool footprint or text cursor.
Tablet pressure
1 is linear. Lower values need less pressure; higher values need a firmer press.Independent tablet size and opacity responses. Size has a one-pixel raster minimum. Smoothing filters pressure without delaying the pointer position. Pen/eraser strokes taper between samples. Mouse strokes use the full size and opacity sliders. Opacity pressure is multiplied by the opacity slider; Wash preserves the highest painted coverage at each pixel. Tablet drivers must supply pressure through pointer events.
Brush size while drawing
Off by default: size changes affect future marks and the stroke commits on release. On: each size change commits the preceding portion; keep drawing without releasing the mouse. Cancel discards only the current uncommitted portion. Text remains a draft until stamped.
Cancel brush stroke
Selection display
Visual only; invisible resize handles remain usable. Lasso preference also applies to polygon and magic selections.Original updates exact pixels while dragging and can be slower for large selections. Cached mode takes effect with a new image placement or Move/Clone preview.Show a clean selection during dragging. These display settings are saved locally.
Canvas & export

Drawing starts offline. P2P and dedicated Server modes connect only when you choose them. Accounts and galleries are unavailable.

openflock

Cancel an active brush stroke with right mouse by default. Assign a different key or key combination in Configuration → Cancel brush stroke. Cancel restores the board without adding an undo action.

Tool options: Pressure on opacity and Pressure on size are independent. The opacity slider is the maximum; pressure affects new marks. Choose a grouped brush Blending mode to change how pen/pixel/shape paint mixes with the active layer. Wash preserves the highest coverage at each pixel; Build-up accumulates.

Pan: drag tool, Space + drag, or middle mouse. Pan tool: right-drag up/down for smooth anchored zoom. Zoom: mouse wheel with the pan tool, +/−, or the zoom percentage. The wheel changes size with drawing/text tools; the selection cursor stays fixed. Fit and center are in the bottom bar.

Text: selecting the tool starts typing immediately; type under your cursor, then click to stamp. Clicking with an empty draft pauses typing and shows the Click or Enter hint. Enter clears a nonempty draft or toggles typing when empty; Escape clears the draft. Mobile: taps open typing without pasting; hold one finger to move the text cursor. Tap Enter to clear, hold Enter for 0.5 seconds to paste. The ↵ button supports holding on touch keyboards. Two fingers pan and zoom. The bottom tool-rail button toggles mobile optimizations. Maximum 200 characters, one line. Text and blur support ordinary undo/redo. Snapshots save all layers and visibility, with separate undo/redo controls.

Load image: choose or drop a local file. Move, resize, rotate or flip its centered preview, then Confirm or Enter to place it. Cancel or Escape discards it. Existing drawing is preserved; confirmation is undoable.

Selection supports lasso, rectangle, polygon and magic color areas. Clear, Fill, Move, Clone, Save and Cancel are available. Before Move/Clone, dragging and handles adjust only the selection boundary. Move/Clone: drag, resize or rotate artwork, then Apply or Enter. Lock preserves proportions by default; MANUAL reveals W/H/Angle controls. Escape cancels. Blend averages colors inside a circular brush and paints them back onto the active layer; opacity controls strength. Custom brush: choose the custom tool, open Brush gallery and select a preset. Edit spacing, angle, scatter, pressure, flow and blend mode; test it in the scratchpad, import local tips/presets, or draw your own tip. Animation is not ported yet. Rotation and Flip change only your local view; input stays aligned with the artwork and exports keep document orientation.

Load image
▧DRAG AND DROP AN IMAGEPNG, JPEG, WebP or BMP

Load a local image, then position it on the board and confirm.

Experimental P2P

Manual connection exchange. No Flockmod services. Direct local-network connections by default.

Optional STUN / TURN configuration

Leave blank for no external servers. Paste your own ICE server JSON array for connections across networks.

Offline. Host creates an offer, guest pastes it and creates an answer; host pastes the answer.

Sharing a board replaces the guest’s local board. Save it first. Host departure ends the session. Toolbar undo/redo affects your edits; global undo is in Snapshots; local snapshots can restore a checkpoint to the shared board. 120 fps requires a suitable display and enough CPU/network capacity.
Experimental dedicated server

Connect directly to an openflock server. No STUN, TURN or offer exchange.

Enter a room name to join or create it. Default: nlobby. Disconnect before switching rooms.

Offline. Connections start only when you choose Connect.

Joining replaces your local board; save it first. The server keeps the room available when users leave. Toolbar undo/redo affects your edits; global undo is in Snapshots; snapshots are local, and restoring one changes the shared board.
